Hays is located on I-70 midway between Kansas City (east 215 miles) and Denver (west 300 miles). We are 180 miles north and west of Wichita. Lake Wilson (40 miles east) and Cedar Bluff Lake (30 miles) offer excellent recreational opportunities.
Fort Hays State University offers many activities and events to attend including the Encore series featuring Ballet, magic shows, entertainers, etc. Also, the FHSU basketball and football teams are exciting to follow. FHSU won the NCAA division II basketball title in 1995.
